The finance department is responsible for the following:

Budgetary

• Prepare annual estimates of revenue and expenditure
• Budgetary control
• Prepare supplementary estimates of revenue and expenditure
• Control of performances of the Council’s financial budget

Resource Mobilisation

• Collection of resources to support budget
• Mobilisation of resources to support budget
• Structuring of financial deals that support the budget
• Spearhead resource allocation to maximise value.
• Spearhead Council income generating projects
• Procurement of goods and services to support Council operations
• Information Communication Technology
• Support Management Information System through Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
• Financial Reporting
• Preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with International Public Sector Financial Accounting Standards
• Management reporting for decision making
• Corporate Governance
• Formulation of bylaws and regulations
• Compliance with statutes and regulations
• Facilitates for external Audits
• Gender mainstreaming
